rupi-kaur-mind-and-body

Tonight starts a season full of offerings from my heart to yours.

Everything I do reflects my own, ongoing journey to find that integration of body + mind + spirit…to know my own wholeness…to reside in that natural state of connection and depth of peace.

Join me as we continue to affirm that we are worth our own best efforts.

It’s all here.

And if you’re interested, I have a number of upcoming offerings which will continue to explore healing and justice and liberation and transformation.  I really hope you’ll make the journey with me.

Full details for upcoming events can be found on the Upcoming Events page.

ange-liberation

Excerpt from the book Radical Dharma by Reverend angel Kyodo Williams.

I’ve got quite a few exciting offerings coming up.
Please read on for all the details.

This month in my Saturday classes I’m teaching on themes from the book Radical Dharma, from which the above photo is excerpted.  The book’s principle author is an incredible teacher and activist, Reverend angel Kyodo williams, and she is coming to Durham in late October.  I am so excited to be in space with Rev. angel and I highly encourage you to check out more information about her upcoming visit – she is offering a free public dharma talk as well as a weekend-long workshop.

This week we’ll be looking at exactly what Reverend angel references above – the incredible, lived experience of true freedom that liberation brings, especially freedom from the need to control, freedom from the temptation to be “co-dependent with Grace” as I call it.  Join me on the mat as we explore just how liberated you can be.

Make check-in a breeze, sign up now.

While exploring themes for this week, I found myself meditating on the magic of daily life.  Marveling at the mysteries of the mundane.  Feeling awestruck by the everyday essence of life just as it is.  In short, I found myself thinking about everyday magic.  (Those of you who are local will know why I decided not to title the blog as such).

Not the crystals and moonbeam type of magic (though I’m into that a bit myself).  Rather, the kind of magic that is available to us when we practice presence.  The magic we are privy to when we pay attention to the utterly fantastic and nearly unbelievable miracle that is the human body itself.  Never mind the incredible power of the body to heal and transform.  [Not to mention the wonder that is the mind-body-heart-spirit connection…]

For class on Saturday, 8/20/16. 10:30-12 at Durham Yoga Company.

I just saw the video of the Omran Daqneesh, a five year old boy who survived another recent bombing in the ongoing war in Syria which has claimed the lives of over 250,000 civilians (according to CNN) and left millions more displaced, and without homes.  It is a truly heartbreaking image of a tiny being whose body and brain are clearly in shock, overwhelmed by the sheer horror of what he has survived.  He and his immediate family did escape the rubble with their lives.  The need for healing that will now mark their life journeys forever is virtually more than I can comprehend…
